Q: what makes the SOF Ghee special?
A: The Ghee is made the traditional way - we use fire wood and sun-baked cow dung cake as fuel. It is prepared in Iron Kadhais /clay pot and is made by hand by Women farmer folk in our village.

Q: What is Bilona Ghee?
A: Desi cow ghee is known as the golden medicine of Ayurveda. It is sometimes referred to as “clarified butter”, as all of the milk solids have been removed from it. After this process, you are left with a nutritious, easy to digest (lactose and casein-free), healing oil that can be used as food or as medicine. Bilona is the method used to make curd from whole milk. Then churn it to separate makhan from it and then boil it to get Ghee. This is called whole milk ghee and it is the costliest but has all the medicinal properties of Desi cow’s milk. To manufacture 1 kg of such ghee, it takes approximately 35 liters of Desi cow milk. The only bi-product is chaas (no milk is left as it is converted into curd). So this method is expensive

A: Yes, it is. Pure Desi Ghee has a high smoke point (485 degrees F). This has to do with the molecular structure of saturated fats. Saturated fats contain no double bonds so are not sensitive to heat, light or oxygen, unlike unsaturated fats.

I had never ever tasted such flavour of Ghee in my entire life. The flavours are extremely natural, with every spoon you take youll feel that, yes you are somehow connected to your mother nature. I consume Full moon Svastya Ghee in my lunch by adding it to rice or sabji and adding a spoonful of ghee to a glass of warm milk along with haldi at night. It gives me immense pleasure and literally my tummy thanks me every time I have it. The only thing that has attracted my attention was that Svastya Organic Farms ghee is made with Curd and Makhan and not cream (Malai), and because of that SOF Ghee gets easily digested as compared to the one made with Cream or Malai.
