From one table in Bengaluru to families in 35+ countries.
Svastya means health in Sanskrit. It began with a table, two chairs and four products, and grew into an organic farm run by 350 women farmers in Lokkanahalli.
Where it started
Food is the best medicine.
We come from a family of farmers, and we always believed that food is the best medicine. Working a corporate job, I saw how chemically grown food and lifestyle diseases were affecting everyone around me. I decided to bring health and happiness to people through food grown on our own farm.
After leaving the office at 8 pm, I visited homes and apartments to explain the value of organic, all-natural food. For a month, nothing changed. Then we found the weekend markets.
We drove 55 km to buy 12 plastic bottles. We filled six with honey, five with ghee, and packed turmeric into covers from a chips shop. We had no idea how to present at the event.Our first market day

Women farmers
Run and owned by women farmers.
At Svastya Organic Farms, women make the farming decisions. They choose the seeds and lead the harvesting, threshing, storing and processing. Every SOF farm is run or owned by women farmers.
The work is shared. Women oversee sowing, weeding, mulching, harvesting, processing and packing, while men usually handle ploughing, watering, loading and transport.
