How we farm
At Svastya Organic Farms we farm the way our ancestors did: organic, regenerative and slow. Here is what that looks like on our land in Lokkanahalli, and in the box that reaches your door.

Soil = soul
Soil is the foundation of every organic farm, and of human and animal health. Regenerative organic farming, practised by our ancestors, leads to healthy soil, healthy people and a healthy planet.
Soil forms slowly: building a single millimetre can take from a few years to a century. Soils around the world are being lost faster than they can be replaced, so we farm to protect ours.
On our land
We still plough our rows with bullocks, the way it has been done for generations.
We cover bare soil with mulch so it never lies naked to the sun and rain.
Our crops are grown under the NPOP organic standard, without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides.
The farm is run and owned by women farmers, and much of the harvest is done by hand. Read our story
What grows here
Sesame, groundnut, turmeric, ragi, coconut and lemon are among the crops we grow.
They are covered by our NPOP organic scope certificate (ORG/SC/2606/000966), issued by the Karnataka State Organic Certification Agency (KSOCA).
Organic and Wild
Not everything we sell comes from our farm, and we think you should know which is which.
Our farm range is organically grown on our own farm in Lokkanahalli, on the Karnataka–Tamil Nadu border, India. It includes crops, cold pressed oils, desi A2 ghee and pantry staples, and carries our Organic label.
Our Wild range is gathered directly from the wild forests, not cultivated or farm-grown. It includes all our honey, Wild Forest Bamboo Rice, Lemon Pickle, Herbal Hair Oil, Kayakalpam Powder and Soil Sambrani. That is why they carry a Wild label, not an Organic one.
